DP Book 1 Chapter 5: “Who Is this Outsider?"

“You must be out of your mind Liliana, bringing this boy here.  Who is this Outsider anyway?  Why did you bring him here?”
“I’m sorry Father he asked for my help and I want to give I always keep my word,” She said.  People started to gather around her home camp.  They were in awe to see an Outsider in their home.  “I want to confront The Hooded Man, he killed my family and took our land.  Okyra is now under his control and I want it back.  The curious crowd collectively gave a loud gasping noise.

“Oh you poor fool, The Hooded Man cannot be stopped.  He’s one of the only sorcerers left in the world.  Didn’t my daughter tell you that he just left Tzaria after bleeding us dry.  We don’t want him coming back again, our supplies are just now getting back up to standards,” the old man pleaded.

“Please Sir, I just need to learn to be a warrior like you and Liliana.  I need a weapon as well.  I will get Okyra back from The Sorcerer.  I need to find Kowo Kawa.”
Once again the audience gave another gasp of awe, “Who told you about Kowo, He is our Chief Elder.”
“ A dying dragon told me,” Sam said.  This time the crowd erupted with snarky laughter and snide comments.  “You must be a fool Outsider.  Nobody can speak to dragons, you must think all Tzarians are fools.  Only the sons of Dragon Kings can speak to them.”
“What about King Charles, he has to be a Dragon King, like you said.”
The Old Man gave a loud “HA”! “That fool is no Dragon King, he’s just a big flubbagaster.  He is nowhere close to being that high up in royalty.”  “Get this man out of here now, he doesn’t belong here.”  A group of muscular and tall guards came to escort the boy out.  As soon as they grabbed him, an elder came out from a hill on high.  He shouted “LET THE BOY GO.” “Chief Elder, he is an outsider, he does not belong here.” The Old Man pleaded.
“I wish to speak with him, send him up to me.  I have questions I want to ask him.  I also have answers for him.” The boy was escorted to the Elder Chief.  “Welcome to Tzaria son, I am Kowo Kawa.  Now, you said you spoke to a dying dragon.  What did he say to you?”
“Well, he was speaking in some weird language, but somehow, I could understand him.  He told me to find Kowo Kawa.  I didn’t know that was you sir.” Samwell spoke.
“Oh you are special my boy, you are the Prince of Dragons.  Your Father was a Dragon King.  Only The Descendants can speak to dragons.  Its a gift only true Descendants have. That fool King Charles is not your father.  I also heard about your brothers, I’m sorry to hear about that.
“I need to become a warrior like you and your people, I must go back and take my home back.  The Hooded Man has already killed many of my people, and it has to end.”
The Chief Elder looked in shock, having to just get rid of The Hooded Man.  The Man had just left Tzaria after ransacking all of their supplies.
“You will need help with this Herculean task, The Sorcerer is a very powerful man.  You won’t be able to defeat him on your own.  I will allow a fellow Tzarian to train you.  You will start tomorrow at dusk.  So go find Liliana, and rest tonight.
After a long day, Sam found the girl and went straight to sleep.  I guess it was all the long travel that tired him out.  The next day the girl stood over Sam while still sleeping and all of a sudden shouted at him to wake up “GET UP.”  He jumped up and hit his head on a nearby table, “OW,” He shouted.  The Chief Elder had assigned the girl to help with the boys training.   “I guess with all your whining, you finally got what you want.  We will start with weapon training first then get into defense.  Here you go.”
Liliana pulled out a dark red sheath, “This is your new sword.”
“Wow, thanks.  I will use it with honor,” He said happily and with bliss.  The two set off to the training grounds of her village.  The grounds were cluttered with the best warriors of Tzaria, all of them sparring or battling their hearts out.  I could tell the boy was starting to become intimidated, the sweat on his hands were causing the blade to keep slipping out of his hands.

“Have you ever held a weapon before Sam,” she asked.  “Only wooden swords.  I have never hurt anyone.”
“Oh boy, we have a lot to work to do.”  The Tzarian Initiation requires that you kill something.  I had to slay a newborn dragon.”
“Really, thats kind of cruel isn’t it,” Sam asked with concern.  “Its a tradition all Tzarians must complete, it molds you into a fierce warrior. Since you’re a simple Okyrian, you don’t have to go through the treacherous rituals.”
Throughout the week Liliana was on Samwell day in and day out.  From early in the morning to late at night when the moon was brightest, they worked together to teach the Dragon Prince how to fight like a true warrior.   During the last day of the week, or Solis, the Tzarians gathered around to pray to the Faith Giver.    It was a sight to behold, they have never seen this deity in person, but their faith kept them singing in harmonized synchronicity.  Liliana had dragged Sam to the Hall of Worship, to sing to The Conductor.  It was said that he used the sound of music to determine someones fate.  After a long day of praising, the two finally wen back to Liliana’s camp and got ready for another week of hard work.  They were ready for another simple day, but will soon find that tomorrow won’t go as planned...
